Backstage fixes the part in between. We do the lesson. Then I stay with you, watching your videos and sending feedback back, until it's right.

- Two private one-hour lessons a month on Zoom, built around the songs you actually want to play.
- A replay and a task list after every lesson, so you know exactly what to work on.
- Practice tracks at your tempo. I record them for you, often right after the lesson.
- Checkpoints between lessons. You post a video. I send one back. We keep going until it's right.
- Your songs, not a set curriculum. I learn them before we sit down, and you can message me whenever you get stuck.
- A monthly open mic, just for Backstage players. A real reason to get a song ready.

Why I built Backstage.

Every big leap I've made on guitar came from a real person. A neighbour who showed me the blues. A lesson every week at music college. Pros in Vancouver and LA. Teachers I still book today.
Courses didn't make me a guitar player. People did.
A while back I booked a lesson with a guy I studied with in LA. Great hour. Then... "Good luck out there, Will." Nothing after that.
And I realized I'd been doing the same thing to my own students. Great lesson, see you next week. Then they'd go home and get lost in the guitar jungle.
So I built Backstage. We do the lesson, then I stay with you between them until it's right.
It's for you if you've got the guitars and the courses, and you still can't play one song start to finish for anybody. It only works if you post your videos.

It's a real investment, and it's priced like one-on-one coaching with a working musician, not a subscription.
Here's a ballpark: three months of Backstage runs about what you'd spend on another good guitar. The difference is this one comes with a coach who knows your playing.

You get a replay and a task list after every lesson, practice tracks at your tempo, and checkpoints: you post a video, I send one back. So you're not spending two weeks practising something the wrong way.
I've done lessons and courses before. Why would this be different?

Courses and one-off lessons give you great information. What they can't do is watch you play and tell you what to fix. That's what's been missing, and that's the whole point of Backstage.
Can't I just learn this from YouTube?
The information's out there. Finding the right video for exactly where you are is like finding a needle in a haystack. And nobody on YouTube is watching you play.
